Changes to Trello's Terms of Service

It's been a bit over a year since Trello was acquired by Atlassian, and today we're announcing that we are adopting Atlassian's Cloud Terms of Service. The new terms cover all of Atlassian's cloud products and include some Trello-specific terms. They will go into effect on November 1, 2018, and will replace the existing Trello Terms of Service.

Here are some of the key changes:

  • New Policies. We've adopted Atlassian's Acceptable Use Policy, and we're replacing our DMCA Policy with Atlassian's Reporting Copyright and Trademark Violations policy. Be sure to take a close look. These new policies include important guidelines on use of Trello.
  • Trello-Specific Terms. To account for some of Trello's unique features, we've created some Trello-specific terms. These apply when you use Trello, and address Power-Ups, privacy settings and other Trello practices.
  • Joint Data Protection Addendum. Beginning November 1, 2018, we will be offering a joint data protection addendum that covers Trello and the other Atlassian cloud products.
  • Trello at Work. Trello helps you collaborate across all parts of your life, including at work. The new terms offer a more robust set of confidentiality and other protections that businesses expect and clarify how Trello works for business domains.

Have questions? We've prepared a summary of changes and FAQs, and we encourage you to read the full terms. You can also reach our support team by visiting trello.com/contact.

Note: For current business customers, the new Cloud Terms of Service are subject to any terms that govern updates to your existing agreements with us.
